The Speed Icon combines elements of the classic Speed design with enhancements from the SpeedFlex, utilizing the Riddell Speed helmet shell and similar internal components for improved comfort and stability through the latest technology.

The Speed Icon features the traditional Speed helmet appearance while incorporating Riddell's advanced internal technology for enhanced performance. It is designed to be used with the new lightweight HS4 facemasks, made from high strength spring stainless steel that is thinner and lighter, resulting in improved sight and field vision.

The Riddell quick release system allows for easy facemask removal with a simple press of a button. The Speed Icon also boasts a quick change liner attachment system with removable padding and screw-in caps for effortless inner padding adjustments. The upgraded internal padding includes new Nubuck overliners for enhanced comfort and stability.
